The first Diabetes Podcast Week kicks off on February 1. I will be taking part as cohost of DSMA Live: ‘Rents.
Since August of 2012, Bennet Dunlap and I have been hosting ‘Rents, interviewing fellow bloggers, medical professionals, diabetes device executives, people living with and caring for people with diabetes, to name just a few. We’ve covered topics from Nightscout, The Artificial Pancreas, Spare a Rose and so much more. We’ll be airing our 75th episode live on February 1.
Our DPodcastWeek show will feature fellow Podcaster, Christopher Snider, and we’ll be talking about Diabetes Secrets. He hope you’ll join us live at 1PM EST, when we’ll be happy to accept your calls.
Please check out all the participants of DPodcastWeek and consider supporting the Spare a Rose Campaign. Buy one or two less roses (or skip them altogether) and donate that money to Life for Child and bring life saving insulin to children in need. For more information, please visit IDF, or listen to our podcast with Kerri Sparling mentioned above. Donations will be accepted started on February 1, when DPodcastWeek kicks off!
Bennet Dunlap and I have the pleasure of co-hosting DSMA Live Parents Talk every other Monday. This coming week, however, we have a special opportunity. We will actually physically be in the same location, so we are having a special Sunday edition. I hope you will be able to join us. Rather than have a scheduled guest, it’s going to be our first Co-Host Edition, and perhaps we’ll have some special surprise pop-in guests with us!
It’s Diabetes Art Day! We have embraced Lee Ann Thill’s philosophy that the only measure of success is participation. I opened the drawer of D supplies and was uninspired. All I could think of was Pod flower petals and we’ve done that before. I asked Caleb if he wanted to create something and he said, “Sure”. He pulled out one of his favorite things to play with – Bucky Balls – and went to work.
We have art imitating life:
Real blood, but he cheated on the bg. He was actually 151. Me thinks he needs a reminder to rotate fingers for finger sticks.
So if you haven’t already, create your own piece of art and post it at Lee Ann’s website www.diabetesartday.com and check out all the other wonderful submissions.
Bit numero dos
I’m so very excited to be co-hosting another episode of DSMA Live Parents talk with Bennet Dunlap, moderated by founder Cherise Shockley. Tonight our guest will be Hallie Addington who authors The Princess and the Pump. I enjoy reading Hallie’s blog – she keeps me informed and entertained, and inspires me with her commitment to advocacy and awareness. I hope you will tune in tonight at BlogTalkRadio at 9PM EST and hear what Hallie has to say.
